CEDAR Trinity Server
CEDAR Trinity Server is a unique system based upon the concept of an audio 'asset', and each project can contain as many of these as may be required. Furthermore, an unlimited number of audio channels (or, to be precise, limited only by the host PC and I/O hardware) can be live for recording at any time. These can be probes in hotel or domestic rooms, microphones in interview rooms, live streams from automobiles, and so on.
The recorder itself is an invisible part of the system and is always active, even when the machine is asleep or you are not logged in. What's more, to protect against lost data, it will automatically resume recording after a reboot or when you turn the computer on.
Operators can view the live channels simultaneously, recording as many as required, switching with a single click to any feed that seems to be displaying activity of interest. These assets are time-stamped with Universal Time Code with the correct application of daylight saving time, so that the timing of events can be pinned down with complete confidence. Assets also include Events, some generated by the system and some inserted by the operator, which can be used (for example) to describe activity of interest or for real-time transcription.
You don't even need to stop recording to listen to previous events. The Server allows listeners to return to times of interest, to loop sections of audio while enhancing the speech, and to log or transcribe these events while it continues to record. Then, the system allows the user to catch up gradually with real-time events so that nothing is missed.
Just as significant is the ability to import existing audio files into a project for listening, speech enhancement, and adding events.
